samadhi

A word that intrigued and mesmerised my mind. A philosophy that led me to my life path.

The most simple translation of this Sanskrit word I have seen, was in a book by Osho, all it said was ‘Ultimate Bliss’. To put it more precisely Samadhi is the state of being aware of one’s existence without thinking or even more precisely, there are three depths to Samadhi:

Laja Samadhi
Deep, meditative trance, even with movement, such as dance. A state of joy.

Savikalpa Samadhi
Quiet and open mind, which reaches the truth and conquers imaginations. A state of bliss and beingness.

Nirvikalpa Samadhi
Pure awareness, wholeness and perfection. Oneness with the true soul. Flooded with the Ocean of Divine Love and Bliss.

Samadhi is a wonderful state to aspire to, and all these years later, it remains a way of life I deeply respect and admire. It is fascinating that, as my career and I have evolved, the concept of Samadhi has become even more poignant within my work.

When you reach out and make contact with another human being, physically, emotionally and spiritually, as you know, mountains are moved, profound peace can be found and a sense of belonging is deeply experienced.
