Sound has been used throughout ancient cultures to promote peace, joy and healing. One of the universal healing sounds for instance is ‘OM’.
OM is said to be the original primordial creative sound from which the entire universe have manifested. OM is the most often chanted sound among all the sacred sounds on earth. This sound is considered as the sound of the existence.
It is believed that the whole universe, in its fundamental form, is made up of vibrating, pulsating energy. OM is considered as the humming sound of this cosmic energy. Sound can affect the mind, body and spirit in a myriad of ways.
All of our human body resonates to specific frequencies or notes and when the corresponding notes or frequencies are played back to it, harmony within can ensue.
When these sounds pass through water, the effects are astounding and knowing that the human body is made up of approximately 70% water, the effects of sound healing are clear to see and feel.
During a cymatics demonstration where tones, frequencies and notes are passed through grains of sand, sugar or salt, laying on, for instance, a flexible membrane, you can easily see how the particles rearrange themselves according to the frequency they are exposed to.
Throughout a sound healing treatment you are bathed in a various forms of sound, including drums, rainsticks, rattles, gongs, chimes, Nepalese bowls, voice, bells and crystal singing bowls. In some instances the vibrations can be directly applied to the person.
All you do is breathe, be mindful of your intent and let it happen, when the body, chakras and auric fields absorb the sounds great transformation is possible.
Harmonic vibrational theory suggests that every cell, tissue and organ collectively participate in a venture of vibratory agreement and disagreement. Our bodies, our minds and our spirits exist as a localized energetic field of frequency-based communication designed to bring the many parts into a state of wholeness – into a state of HARMONY.
